What Skills Assure means

Only approved providers can use the identifier. It exists so that when you're comparing courses, you can tell at a glance who is actually contracted to deliver government-subsidised training and who isn't.

What approval involves

Becoming a Skills Assure Supplier isn't a formality. Providers are assessed on their training quality, financial standing, student outcomes and compliance history, and are audited against their agreement, including how accurately they advertise courses, fees and eligibility. National College of Skills has held Skills Assure Supplier status since the framework began, and delivered Queensland Government subsidised training in Far North Queensland for over a decade before that under earlier programs.

What it means for you

• Real subsidies. Eligible students access Queensland Government subsidised places through the Career Start and Career Boost programs. The government pays its share directly to us.
• Transparent fees. Every co-contribution fee, concessional and non-concessional, is published on the Career Start and Career Boost pages and on each course page, so there are no surprises at enrolment.
• Accountability. Our delivery, outcomes and advertising are subject to departmental review. If something's not right, you can raise it with us through our complaints process, or with the Queensland Training Ombudsman, a free and independent service.
