HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

The standard first aid certificate, the one workplaces, sports clubs, schools and licensing bodies ask for. It qualifies you to respond to injuries and illness until professional help arrives: CPR and defibrillation, bleeding, burns, fractures, anaphylaxis, asthma, snake and marine stings, and the judgement calls in between, in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.

Our express delivery keeps your time in the room short without cutting corners: you complete the theory online at your own pace before you attend, then spend a focused half-day with a trainer doing the practical work: scenarios, bandaging and assessed CPR. If it's your first-ever first aid certificate, tell us when booking and we'll recommend the full-length session instead.

Book a session

Sessions run regularly at our Mossman training rooms (11 Johnston Road, opposite the bowls club). Pick a date, pay online, and your booking confirmation includes the online modules to complete before you attend.

Before you attend: finish all 13 online modules (allow up to 3 hours; you'll need a computer, not a phone), wear clothes you can kneel and move in, and arrive on time. Assessment requirements mean we can't admit latecomers once the session starts.

What you receive

On successful completion, a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, issued by National College of Skills (RTO 32474), usually on the same day. Renewal is due every 3 years, with an annual CPR refresher recommended in between.

Requirements

Assessment includes performing 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin on the floor. There are no exceptions to this national assessment requirement. If you have an injury or condition that makes this uncertain, call us before booking and we'll talk it through.

Group and workplace bookings

We run private sessions for workplaces, schools and clubs, at our rooms or your site. Certifying a whole roster in one morning is usually cheaper and always easier. Call 07 4098 1228 for group rates.
