CHCSS00129 Individual Support - Ageing

A focused, nationally recognised way into aged care work without committing to a full qualification first. This skill set covers the core competencies of supporting older people, and every unit credits directly into the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) if you continue.

Aged care providers in our region hire on exactly these skills. It suits people testing whether care work is for them, and employers who need new staff trained to a recognised standard.

Fees and funding

Eligible Queenslanders can access this skill set subsidised under the Career Boost program at the co-contribution fee shown above. Skill sets are exempt from Career Boost's prior-qualification rule, and each person can access up to two subsidised skill sets. Check your eligibility.

What's involved

Training and assessment against the skill set's units in personal support work with older people. On successful completion you receive a Statement of Attainment for the units achieved, which is nationally recognised and gives full credit toward the Certificate III if you go on with us.

New entrants to aged care who want to start working sooner; workers from adjacent fields (cleaning, hospitality, community work) crossing into care; employers inducting new support staff to a recognised standard.
